New Agent!

I have not written a post inĀ  a while because frankly I got busy and then lazy. A few things happened:

In March we celebrated the ZOMBEAVERS film premiere at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles and over 1,000 people were in attendance! Including Steve-o, who is an animal loving vegan like myself!

The premiere was a blast. Everyone who was in attendance was happy to be there and gave the film a great live-audience vibe by laughing and whistling and really getting in to it!

We had a good amount of press for the film’s USA debut (well official, non-festival, debut) including radio interviews with Los Angeles radio stations, Funny or Die, Carson Daily, Playboy Morning Show, magazine articles, blogs, and more.

After the premiere I got a call from APA one of the larger, smaller, talent agents asking me about my representation. I almost cried. APA?! About time, right?!

I had not been happy with my representation. Although I was appreciative for the belief they had in me, I did not want to stay in a professional relationship with them. First of all my manager always seemed crass or rude with me. I was never sent out on projects that suited me either. Second, my agent was only good commercially, so leaving theatrically really wasn’t a big deal.

Finally, when I met with APA I felt like a true actor. I have been working and grinding for so long that I no longer have feet and it was really time for me to hear that a bigger company was interested in me! I literally wanted to cry with joy in my meeting. For once an agency was asking me to join them, rather than asking me to prove myself with a monologue or credits.

I truly hope this is the start of something good! We shall see!
